Wildlife and Zanzibar Safari

Day 1: Welcome and first night in Arusha
We will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International airport and take you to the city of Arusha to stay the first night at the River Tree lodge. You will be able to get around the city, have some time getting used to culture in Tanzania, change some money in local currency, rest from the flight, and prepare for your Safari experience that starts the following day early morning.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park Visit
After breakfast we will pick you up and drive you to the Tarangire National Park. The journey is about 2 hours and half. In order to enjoy the maximum time in the park we will have our lunch packed so we can enjoy at any time during the Safari. You will enjoy a few hours of magnificent views of wildebeest, zebras, giraffes and elephants. It is specially remarkable the view of elephants and giraffes since Tarangire is the core of the Elephant project and Giraffe Masai project

Day 3: The Big 5 at Tarangire

Your second day in Tarangire National park will allow you to have the most of time to enjoy the great opportunities to continue observing wildlife. This day allows us to track the big five so you can enjoy a unique experience to see closely the african lion, elephant, cape buffalo, leopards and rhinos. Depending your preferences we can get back to lodge for a hot lunch and some rest or take lunch with us and have a break during the game visit. In the evening we will return to Tarangire Safari lodge to spend the night.
Day 4: Lake Eyasi, Great Rift and Karatu
Once we have breakfast at the lodge we depart towards the lake Eyasi. We will pack our lunch and drive to the escarpments of the Great Rift Valley where you can enjoy impressive views and get stunning pictures. Then we continue our way to Karatu to visit the tribe that has been living in the area for thousands of years. You can enjoy an intercultural exchange and see the cultural values and the old ways, for instance we can visit how a blacksmith works and perhaps (depending on the day) we can enjoy the ritual ancestral dances. We will pass the night at Eyasi Safari lodge.





Day 5: Hunting with the Hadzabe tribe
Get an early coffee and get our breakfast to take on the way to the Bushmen/Hadzabe tribe. They are hunters and gatherers following the ancestral ways of living. They are nomads and move around a great area. We have ties with their local community and we will be accompanied with a guide form their tribe so we can communicate with them because they have their own language. If you feel adventurous you will have the chance to go with them hunting and see how they track animals. With us, you will have the unique opportunity of trying their arrows and bowls. You will be taught their old hunting techniques in a complete and secure environment. We will get back to the lodge for having a hot lunch and a short rest. Later we will have a walk towards the lake Eyasi and enjoy the spectacular sunset. At night we will get back to the lake Eyasi Safari lodge to stay the night.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Safari and Empakaai Crater
This day we drive to the Ngorongoro reserve. After breakfast we pack our lunch for the way and start our journey. We get directly to the beautiful Empakaai crater, depending your preferences and energy we can get down to the crater, as it is not accessible by car the walk is about 3 hours and the slopes are steep but we’re sure you won’t regret it. After the great experience in the crater we will drive to the Rhino lodge to spend the night, we will have dinner and tell stories and enjoying your perspective of the visit.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater, a wonder of nature
This will be an amazing day. As usual we will have breakfast and pack our lunch to eat during our safari. The Ngorongoro crater is one of the wonders of nature, there is a large amount animals and rich vegetation. We will spend the whole day around the crater observing a large number of different species. You will likely have one of the last opportunities to see black Rhinos alive in their habitat. We know perfectly their habits and how to track them, Loserian was the ranger in charge of protect them from poaching years ago. The Ngorongoro Crater is an experience you won’t forget. Later in the evening we will get back to the Rhino lodge.
Day 8: The Olduvai Gorge and Masaai visit
After breakfast we will head towards the Olduvai Gorge, a great opportunity to enjoy amazing views and follow the steps of the first homo sapiens. The Olduvai Gorge is one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world, it holds the earliest evidence of the existence of human ancestors. You will also see the spectacular, yet mysterious, ash dunes of Shifting Sands. Formed from volcanic ash, these crescent-shaped dunes are a rare phenomenon. Later on the day we will drive towards the Maasai village and stop there to enjoy the Maasai people friendliness and smiles, you will talk and participate in their activities. After having a great time in the village we will drive towards the Serengeti National Park and stay the night at the Serengeti heritage Luxury Camp.





Day 9: Serengeti and the Big Five
This will be a dream day. We will get energy with a great breakfast and pack our lunches for the intense day. We will track the big five (African lion, African elephant, Cape Buffalo, african leopard and rhinos) and observe them closely. For instance the Serengeti is the best place to get close to the big felines, chances are very high you will take pictures of several leopards, cheetahs and lions. After the great day we get back to the Serengeti Heritage Luxury Camp.
Day 10: Way back to Arusha via Ngorongoro
This will be our last day in the wild. After a copious breakfast we will drive back to Arusha through the Ngorongoro. We will make few stops where you can have some views and observe wildlife, however the way back is long and it will be short walks. Later in the evening you will be transferred to the airport to fly to Zanzibar and continue with few days of relax after and intense days in the wilderness.

Day 11: Stone Town & Beaches
Arriving in Zanzibar International Airport, our guide will pick you up and take you to your hotel. The Swahili House is a palace style and
centric great hotel of Zanzibar, located in the bustling heart of Stone Town, it is a traditional Swahili influences and authentic hospitality combined with modern day facilities. A real Zanzibari experience! Our guide will take you through the Stone town, this atmospheric and
mystical town is the cultural and historical heart of Zanzibar. It was constructed from coral stone during the 19th and 20th century, and declared a World Heritage Site in 2000.. You will enjoy the most peculiar areas of the city. You will also have a great deal of time for relaxing at the paradise-like beach after the intense days in the wilderness.
Day 12: Jozani Forests & Spice Farms
Depending your preferences for your stay in Zanzibar we offer you the possibility of 2 visits during this day. Our guide can take you to Jozani Forests to see the red monkeys, and then you can also visit the Spice Farms and observe how to make spices and use them.





Day 13: Turtle Island & Blue Tour
Again this day you can arrange with your guide depending your preferences. You have the possibility to go by boat to a small island and see the big tortoise or in the other hand you can enjoy the blue tour.
Day 14: Sea, Sun & Packing Unforgattable Memories
Your last day in Zanzibar will depend on your flight schedule. In case you have time enough you can enjoy the last hours enjoying the crystal waters of Zanzibar beaches. The you will be transferred to the International Zanzibar Airport for taking your connection flight back home with an unforgettable experience and a great time.
