14 Days Great Migration River Crossing Safari

Day 1: Welcome and first night in Arusha
We will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International airport and take you to the city of Arusha to stay the first night at the River Tree lodge. You will be able to get around the city, have some time getting used to culture in Tanzania, change some money in local currency, rest from the flight, and prepare for your Safari experience that starts the following day early morning.
Day 2: Flying from Arusha to Kogatende Airstrip.
We arrive to Kogatende, very near of river Mara, you will meet our specialist guides with the Safari Vehicles and drive to the Camp, this journey will be the first contact with the game driving around river Mara. Once in the heritage Migration Camp, you will have some time to unpack and have a hot lunch. This camp has big tents with bathroom inside with hot water, After lunch, if we have time we check if we see any of any wildlife crossing the river and enjoy crocodiles viewing.


Days 3 to 5: Mara River Crossing
During 3 days you will enjoy Kogatende, where you will venture out on the most special African moment, in search of the famous Mara river crossing of thousands of wildebeest and zebras. As we want to provide you with the best experience, we will have our options open to change camps depending on the herds moves to cross the river, so as to maximise the possibilities of witnessing the magical moment.
Apart from the herds, we will track and search for the famous big five, and if we are lucky enough we may witness the incredible action of predators hunting.

Day 6: Central Serengeti
After one final morning game drive in the Mara river and a sumptuous breakfast. This day, our journey continues as we head from the edge of the Serengeti into its very heart. Now Serengeti beckons, and so we continue to head north and west into what is surely the world’s greatest park. Home to over 1.6 million herbivores and the thousands of predators who stalk them. Their fascinating habits and habitats are sure to provoke questions, so do ask your driver-guide to explain the amazing creatures you see all around you. At night, back at your accommodation, the sights, sounds and smells of Africa will continue to enchant you on this wilderness adventure.





Day 7-8: Full days of Exciting Safaris
Waking up in the Serengeti is something really special. Sights, sounds, and the smell of the savannah are all around us. After breakfast, we start the day with the morning section of our game drive in Serengeti National Park, marveling at the stunning scenery, ever-changing light and always entertaining wildlife, all explained to you by your expert driver-guide. You can choose between, take the lunch with us and do a small picnic or get back to the camp before start searching for wildlife again. Serengeti’s wonders are awe-inspiring and you can be sure they evolve subtly as the day progresses. The myriad animals and birds are the ‘stars of the show’ and action can unfold at any time. Of course, the animals don’t work to any schedule, so we may find lion or leopard, elephant and zebra, cheetah and antelope at any time on our drives. At the end of the afternoon, we return to the camp for dinner and some much needed rest.
Day 9: Ngorongoro Safari and Olduvai Gorge
After Breakfast, we drive to one of the pearls of Africa, the Ngorongoro conservation area. In this place the game drives get to another level due to the amount of wildlife in a relative small area. It’s a breathtaking scene to see such wildlife in the crater. On the way to Ngorongoro we can also visit Olduvai. The Olduvai Gorge is one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world; it holds the earliest evidence of the existence of human ancestors. You will also see the spectacular, yet mysterious, ash dunes of Shifting Sands. Formed from volcanic ash, these crescent-shaped dunes are a rare phenomenon. You will spend the night nearby the Ngorongoro crater.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater, a wonder of nature
This will be an amazing day. As usual we will have breakfast and pack our lunch to eat during our safari. The Ngorongoro crater is one of the wonders of nature, there is a large amount animals and rich vegetation. We will spend the whole day around the crater observing a large number of different species. You will likely have one of the last opportunities to see black Rhinos alive in their habitat. We know perfectly their habits and how to track them, Loserian was the ranger in charge of protect them from poaching years ago. The Ngorongoro Crater is an experience you won’t forget. Later in the evening we will get back to the Rhino lodge/any other in the rim of the crater.
Day 11: Tarangire National Park.
After breakfast we will pick you up and drive you to the Tarangire National Park. In order to enjoy the maximum time in the park we will have our lunch packed so we can enjoy at any time during the Safari. This drive will give a chance to visit shopping centers before reaching the park for giraffes and elephants. It is specially remarkable the view of elephants and giraffes since Tarangire is the core of the Elephant project and Giraffe Masai project.





Day 12-13: Tarangire National Park.
Your day in Tarangire National park will allow you to have the most of time to enjoy the great opportunities to continue observing wildlife. This days allows us to track the big five so you can enjoy a unique experience to see closely the african lion, elephant, cape buffalo and leopards . Depending your preferences we can get back to lodge for a hot lunch and some rest or take lunch with us and have a break during the game visit. In the evening we will return to Tarangire Safari lodge to spend the night.
Day 14: Way back to Arusha via Ngorongoro
This will be our last day in the wild. After a copious breakfast we will drive back to Arusha. We will make few stops where you can have some views and observe wildlife, Later in the evening you will be transferred to your hotel or airport depending on your flight departure and arrangements.
